READ. LOG MINUTES. EARN REWARDS!

May 8 - September 8, 2017

Calling all happy campers! Are you ready to take a reading adventure? Join the

Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge by grabbing your favorite books, logging

your reading minutes, and most importantly, having fun all summer long!

A message from Mrs. Buro:

During the last week of school, you should have noticed a goldenrod or pink flyer (see above pic) come home with your student (K through 5th) that provides details about our big international summer reading competition sponsored by Scholastic.  (FYI - 5th grade students will still be included with our school even though they won’t be in our building next year.  We highly encourage them to participate!)

Students keep track of minutes read -- print or digital books, magazines, articles on their devices, recipes, comic books, etc.—and enter them into http://www.scholastic.com/summer.  Using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox (NOT Internet Explorer), TYPE the address into the web address line at the top of your browser and hit enter.

You will see the Happy Camper theme along with Clifford the Red Dog.  Scroll to the middle and click on the blue rectangle called “Kids and Families” and then on the next page, click on LOGIN.  When the user name box pops up, students should enter their “silly user name” and password from the white label on the front of their flyer.  Please read the entire flyer to acquaint yourself with the many free resources available to your child from your computer or device!

Last year we placed 4th in the county – two middle schools and one elementary school were ahead of us.  Help your kids avoid the summer slide by reading and, at the same time, let’s give the middle schools some competition!

Any questions, please email Mrs. Buro, Media Specialist, at Marla.Buro@cobbk12.org

Learning doesn't have to take a break just because school does!
